Over the course of a dozen episodes, we see a detailed account of the events leading up to the resolution of the crisis. As the hours and days pass, tensions build up inside and outside the house. Hostages Series Story
Talking about the story of the film, Hostages is a mistake honestly for sticking to its mandate of being the official Hindi adaptation of a hit Israeli show by the same name. Like the original, the first season of the Hindi remake is about 10 episodes long, each recreated almost scene for scene, with little to no change in dialogue or screenplay.
But while the original was saved from sinking into the absurdity of its screenplay by stellar performances and a solid cast, there is no such respite in the Hindi version. For the most part, the actors playing the characters seem as disgruntled as the audience seems to be, and struggle to shake off the tension the script demands. Tisca tries her best to keep the hostages bemused by her lack of creativity, but eventually commits suicide.
Ronit Roy and Tisca Chopra are brilliant in their parts, but even their wonderful performances cannot hold the audience till the very last episode. Between the first and the last episode, the plot becomes so complicated that the audience loses interest. The series tries its best to be a thriller seat but fails.

Instead of relying more on Ronit and Tisca's acting chops, the makers should have tightened the script. The mortgage is neither very satisfactory nor can it be completely ignored. The viewers who love to watch the series want to watch the entire series together, but the ending can be disappointing.
The series ends with some unanswered questions, which may be answered in the second season.
